  1. Seems like we have the same type of lashes. I need to try the Falsies Volume for sure! I have been Maybelline Rocket Waterproof for my first coat and the Buxom Waterproof mascara for volume. I need a better lengthening one though. Thank you for taking the time to explain all of your faves and fails! Oh and I can't find the Anatasia Lash Genius Clear Mascara anywhere! I think they discontinued it. 🙁

  2. I also prefer maybeline and Lancôme mascaras, lately however I have been really happy with Bourjois 1 seconde mascara (the one in the silver/orange tube as well as the one in the black tube for a super black effect): although it can be a bit tricky to take off, it holds a curl really well

  3. The rocket one is hard to get off whatever formula you choose. I bought the regular one last year and it wouldn't come out. Like even with the oil based stuff. It clings to the eyelashes forever

  4. I've tried most of these mascaras. I prefer natural bristles, too. Of course, my favorite mascara has been discontinued. It was the Loreal Power Collagen Volume. Worked great for me. I have kinda long thick lashes, so I didn't need much. ….and now it's gone. boo Great video!

  5. hey Laura, thanks for this "group therapy for straight lashes" video, haha! I was just nodding my head to pretty much everything you say in this video. I have tried waterproof versions of all sorts of high end mascaras, including Lancome, and they are not as good as my favorite drugstore waterproof mascaras. I agree that one of those high end "curling" mascaras hold a curl if you truly have the infamous so-called "Asian lashes" (you don't have to be Asian, just need to have stubborn, stick-straight lashes that point straight down, lol) – Dior Overcurl, Better Than Sex, They're Real, etc. Those all made my lashes droop down just like all other non-waterproof mascaras. By the way, for extra stubborn Asian lashes like mine, those lash primers (Dior & Lancome) make my lashes droop down; the only one that worked for me was L'Oreal Double Extend (blue & white tube, discontinued) in waterproof. I compared the formulas for the lash primers and only the L'oreal one did not have water as its first ingredient and that's probably why it didn’t make my lashes droop. One trick I have been loving for removing my waterproof mascaras in the past few weeks is to dip a clean fluffy spoolie (Dior Overcurl's is perfect for this) in cleansing oil or waterproof eye makeup remover and gently work it through the lashes. This is so much faster than standing there holding my cotton pad soaked in Lancome Bi-facil or Neutrogena Oil-free Eye Makeup Remover over each eye to avoid rubbing & losing lashes. If I can find the time to clean them, I do save the mascara wands (unless I hated the wand) and use them for this purpose and also for combing out clumps during mascara application. An easy way to clean them is to pour some cleanser (handsoap, dishwashing soap, etc) over 2 wands that have already been rinsed in hot water and then rub the bristles of the wands against each other.

  6. great video! I have tried so many "higher end" mascaras and none of them hold a curl for me! Sounds ridiculous but it makes me so frustrated. I've been using the Rocket volume one for years as my go to mascara and don't seem to have a problem with washing it off with the Shu Umera cleansing oil. I definitely want to check out the Falsies mascara. Have you tried Charlotte Tilbury's water proof yet? I've heard good reviews but I'm starting to doubt those higher end ones will ever work for me.

  7. Thank you for this!!
I cannot find a mascara that works for me. It's super frustrating. I hate using drug store mascara because 90% of the time they are either not cruelty free OR really drying.
I've tried nearly every mascara at Sephora with no luck. I LOVE the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara…it's my holy grail. However it smudges on me and gives me raccoon eyes. The waterproof formula is AWFUL and nothing like the original formula. I was super disappointed because the original is amazing.

I'm nearly about to give up 🙁

  8. Hi Laura, I have a Japanese brand 'Heroine Make volume and curl mascara super waterproof' and it is good I would buy it again. I also have Clinique Naturally glossy mascara and it sucks! It smudges like crazy, I won't repurchase, thanks for saying the CK mascara sucked, I love it when Youtubers say what really sucks cuz that is good to know.
